From Russia ... in Europe

2 weeks ago I arrived in Russia.
Kaliningrad is located between Lithuania and Poland and the Baltic Sea, hundreds of km away from mainland-Russia.

I am having a wonderful time here and as soon as I am back in Vienna, ah ch will be in 3 weeks, I am going to publish photos and tell some stories.

Yesterday I actually had a conversation on the phone in Russian - which is more than I wished for in sich a short time.

At the moment all my photos are stuck in my camera, but I did take some pictures with the tablet cam inside the apartment, where I live at the moment.

Right now

History channel?

A red lipstick is a must.

I am thrilled that I am actually reading Russian texts. Very simple, but still!!

Can you find the sink?
After the manicure

Apples everywhere, now thet the EC must not export fruits to Russia. Tje city of Kaliningrad crowded with appletrees.
Minimalism was yesterday. Golden flowers on the wall.

Kalinimgrad is an incredibly green city.
I am off to the Russian Disco.

  1. Liebe Paula,
so wunderbare Impressionen. Rote Sterne und rote Lippen - zu schön! Danke für Deine Ein- und Ausblicke und liebe Grüße, Bärbel

    1. Liebe Bärbel, Danke für dein Interesse.
Jetzt sitze ich wieder daheim, fern von den vielen Freiheitsgraden, die das Leben während der 5 Wochen geboten hat. Schön war's!

  2. I am SO IMPRESSED! You are in a Russian flat, living with gold embossed flowers, you are speaking Russian and you're off to a disco!!! Where will it all end? %-)

  3. Dear Paula, I left a message but it doesn't appear to have printed. It was to say how impressed I am by your Russian adventure - in a flat with gold-embossed wallpaper, speaking Russian and going to a disco! My visit to St Petersburg involved a great deal of queuing and very little talking!

  4. Rosemary, finally, your comments made it to my blog! Not only do I love to talk and listen in Russian, my new teacher in Vienna even suggests that we should start to THINK in Russian. You can imagine my delight. :-)

St Petersburg will be our next destination, in February. What a contrast to our Rome-trip in Feb. 2014

I may add: I do miss the diso. There is no disco like the Russian disco.
