Synurbic Skywatch Soundtrack

Good morning!

this week's Skywatch Friday is supplemented by sound. Not any sound, but the beautiful sound of a synanthrope species. What a privilege to wake up to the morning voice of the blackbird.

Please click to listen:

Synanthropes are animals and plants that thrive in the human world. Matt Walker, editor of BBC Nature online refers to them as synurbic.

East, 6am

Dusk? Dawn?

Can you tell the difference?

West, 7pm

The day turned out to be a top Skywatch Friday, with all the clouds finally making way for the looong and desperately awaited sunbeams. The sun makes everyone and everything rejoice, including butterflies.

  1. Cleverly composed shot...kudos... or is it from a Japanese Godzilla movie? [just kidding] BTW..we were in Wien this summer [made a few postings]; a lot to see!

    1. Thank you!
Sometimes you are lucky and have the right museum to your right. :-)
I would not have seen what was there to be seen without a look at the camera display. Sometimes you have to frame a view to see it as it is.

Vienna never ceases to entertain me, a picturesque city with many surprising views.

  2. Dawn does look like it's waking up while dusk looks like it's happy to go to sleep. That butterfly photo, wow! Sweet blackbird. :-)

    1. Oh, thank you Kay! The butterfly shot starts growing on me, I found myself enlarging it again, and again, admiring the soft tones and reflections.

  5. Hey I learned something new because of you and I thank for it and the beautiful photos. Is Synurbic a valid words with friends word?

    1. Thank you Yogi for putting up Skywatch Friday!
I am not sure what you mean by "valid words with friends word".
What I do know is that rats are synurbic as well. The word in German is "Kulturfolger" = "to follow civilisation".

The butterfly is actually am advertising stunt. I wonder if they were aware of the museum nearby.
